If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert, in 5 years there'd be a shortage of sand.
Spring in New Hampshire
Yesterday, I went to the Peterborough Green Expo (Greenerborough??) and mulled about looking at all the "alternative" energy solutions and exhibits. They had everything from hybrid vehicles and Segways (I rode one of the newer models) to school alternatives. I appreciate the passion and focus of the Green movement. I understand that respecting our resources and being moderate and mindful of how we use those resources is a good thing. I just get the sense that a good portion of the people that are driving these things would love to see government mandated controls on individuals and taxes for carbon footprints etc. The mantra is already being parroted by the media and the masses have a tendency to follow along with what is fed to them. Oh well, I still think the "alternatives" are a good thing. Just don't try to convince me using the "religion" of Global Warming.
Spring has arrived! Green things are poking out and looking around for warmth and sunshine. It's quite nice given that we've just endured a record breaking winter (see above comment on "religion"). It's so nice to get out and feel the sun beating down. I think my forehead got a little burned too.
After eating an organic Sun Dried Tomato, Hummus and Carrot Wrap, I got in my car and drove to Seabrook. I tried to find the Sea Coast Porc Manor to no avail and continued driving up 1A on the coast. Having grown up in California and not really getting the sense that there was any surfing going on elsewhere, all the surfboards started to grab my attention. So I parked and watched these people, with their full-body wet suits braving the cold Atlantic waters of the early spring.
I decided to take some random turns on the way home to enjoy the country. I'm glad I did. The scenery here is always so inspiring.
